Right now as you read this, people at codemasters and professionals using programs like 3D Studio Max are creating the next level of games for the new consoles.
On Wednsesday i was lucky enough to use what is called a Dubug Playstation 2!!!!!
Basically a Debug machine is what they use to test and run what there creating on to check it looks right on the console (as all games are made on pc)
The Dubug Ps2 is fantastic!!!!!!
Why didn't Sony release the debug Playstation 2 instead of the one's people are takign pre- orders for! This would have ensured that they got there pc status (for tax purposes) and made the Ps2 the best console around!!!!!

i think that the reason they are not selling these debug machines is because Remember the Yaroze the Black Playstation, that didn't sell at all although they were hard to get.

Not strictly true. There are dedicated PS2 development kits, but they are expensive.
The use of PC's in developing PS2 software is believed in some quarters to be part of the reason why there are currently no ground-breaking, highly original titles available for the machine.

Yes, its true!!!! People there are X-Box machines in the UK!!!!!!!!!!!
As before mentioned Debug X-Box consoles are int he Uk as well! developers are creating games as we speak!!!!!
and sources close to me say that the X-Box scheduled for release (preview on ps2 laucnh day) WILL take programmign applications!!!!!!!!!!!!
If this is so then Maybe the fight between X-BOX (the pc engine) and PS2 (the king of consoles) will be over b4 its began with X-BOX stealign the rug form under Ps2!!!!!
