Because we're so wrapped up in our own little lives, or the lives of others, we seem to forget what sort of life we live. Because there's only one real truth in this life. There's only one thing that's real. And that's imagination.
Because imagination can make people laugh. Imagination can go beyond life, imagination can provide an escape, and provide fun.
It can help others to understand themselves a little better, it can inspire people. It can inspire yourself.
For can we possibly create whatever we imagine? Is anything as good as we truly believe it could be?
It could be. That's the point. It could be. If we didn't have our imagination, we'd give up hope in an instant.
If we couldn't imagine how our life could be, how long do you think we could survive before we killed ourselves?
If everything we knew was all there was, if everything we've seen and done was all there was to do, and there was nothing left, what could we possibly do? What would even be the point of staying alive?
What would there be to talk about? No stories, no art, no movies, no music, nothing. We'd have the Earth. We'd have it's beauty, and that's all we could talk about. And other people.
And for some, that's all they talk about anyway. The height of conversation would be the way someone talks, the things they do and say, how they scratched their arrs in front of everyone. Just like Big Brother. Or they talk about what they're doing monday night. They talk about what they're doing to pass the time. Or what they have done. Yeah. Exciting.
Tell me now. When was the last time you used your imagination instead of relying on others to entertain you? When was the last time you acted, the last time you sung, you wrote, you pictured something or laughed at the way you thought something would be like?
When was the last time you created something? When was the last time you smiled at your mind, the last time you drew something you were proud of? The last time you made a joke on the spot? The last time you used your wit to make someone laugh?
Because I don't think it happens in this world often enough. Because the only other thing that really matters in this life, is insanity. The greatest and most wonderful people you will ever meet in your life are completely random and utterly insane. Trust me. Would you rather listen to someone talk about how someone looks gay now they've shaved off their beard, or listen to someone tell you there's a chicken with a balaclava holding up a bank in their mind? Rather talk about how it's such a shame that Arsenal lost the championship, or talk about how cool it'd be if we could build a ship and be pirates?
Make your choice. It's up to you. If you want to continue to discuss others, to continue to talk about how people entertain you and how ingrateful you are for it, do so. I've got my imagination, and the people I love the most in the world have theirs too, and that's why I love them. That's why I love people like Meka, Goatboy, Pb, Snuggly, Rasta, Monkey_Man, er-no etc, why I love my girlfriend, why I love my family, and why I loved my Grampa, who was by far the most inspiring person who ever lived.
He didn't just imagine things, he lived his imagination. And that's what we all should do. Only imagine how good things will be, because we can chase them, and we will.
So my hat goes to you today, you imaginative gits. Keep entertaining yourselves and others, because that's the only real damn thing in life.

Shut up.
I migth write a story now....well, when I get time. Damn real life.
My head is pretty tired these days (AS's seem to have taken their toll...), but when I do get a good idea my mind explores it to the last...
Problem is, most of my ideas turn out to be irrelevant to the real world.
Still, the more idea's I come up with, the more likely a useful one will pop up. :-)

Same here, but more when I was younger. My imagination is usually inspired by books or music, and I always read before I go to bed. When I was younger, and now too, if I found a really good point in a book I'd stop just after, and imagine myself in that sort of situation. It usually sends me to sleep as well, something I don't get enough of these days.
All the same, drawing a flag for when you rule your own country does rule, Sheepy.
Anyway... imagination I used a lot as child... playing games like using kitchen utensils for Star Wars.
These days I use my imagination to think of things before I sleep, then I dream of them. I am apparently a tad insane, witty and funny... oooh doing good here. I'm learning to play guitar and the other day I drew my own country's flag and Ok COmputer art work.
Damn I'm good
