I like cats.
Blinx is a cat - a Ginger Tom by the looks of it.

I've heard a lot of people (on other forums) say that they think Blinx is a rubbish character - nothing but a cat with a cheesy grin wearing goggles, bright red pants, camp white boots and a hoover strapped to his back.

But think about it.
In videogameland what is at first glance perceived as UNCOOL can quickly become COOL if the game is great.
Just look at Mario - a chubby Italian plumber, and Sonic - a blue hedgehog in red trainers.

The "4D" tag that's been attached to Blinx is just a gimmick, but that's not to say that the "time manipulation gameplay" isn't something revolutionary.

* * * *

PAUSE the action yet still our feline hero can move around collecting stuff and eliminating enemies.

FAST FORWARD speeds Blinx up whilst the rest of the gameworld and all in it remains at normal speed.

REWIND and previously destroyed objects and scenery like broken bridges will reform allowing Blinx to gain access to new areas.

SLOW is very similar to Max Payne's "bullet time". Blinx remains at normal speed whilst everything else in the gameworld struggles in slow motion.

RECORD Blinx leading a dangerous enemy away from a doorway, then rewind and press play. There will now be two Blinxs on screen. The Blinx you just recorded leading the enemy away and the Blinx of NOW, free to pass through the doorway unchallenged.

* * * *

With these unique gameplay tools at our disposal, it will be up to the player's own creativity how he or she decides to get through the game, and this is what will make Blinx one of best games ever made.

So whether you think Blinx is a rubbish looking character or not, who cares when the gameplay promises so, so much.

Microsoft hope that Blinx will become the "mascot" character of the Xbox, and if the game lives up to expectations I have no doubt that he will.
Perhaps Blinx will even follow in the footsteps of Mario & Sonic and become the next superstar of gaming?

Let us know if you get anything extra when you get 100% quarma. I suspect the final cut-scene might be slightly different or something (?).

I started a new Oddworld game today and I have saved everyone so far up to the Mudocken fortress level. First time round I killed alot of fuzzles early on in the game by accident by sicking thiem on vykers when I should have used zap.

I am gonna quicksave my game after every save I make. I WILL get 100% quarma.

About 215. I think I'm going to play it again and try and save everybody.

I agree.

I was 2 short of 100% Quarma. I think I accidently blew up 2 scrubs and didn't realize until I'd saved it. :(
I wonder if there's an extra cut-scene or something if you get 100% Quarma?

Having just completed Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee for the second time, I'm really in the mood for the likes of BLINX.

I'll also be buying Toejam & Earl III, Psychonauts and Malice - which are similar types of games.

Hopefully Blinx will be out by Christmas. I've already put 45 sheets on one side for when it sweeps onto the shelves.
Games which boast truly original gameplay are hard to find.
