An importnat part of FPS games on the N64 was the multiplayer, after Goldeneye introduced us to the Deathmatch.

Nintendo themselves are more famous for their 1 player adventures.

So what happens when Retro Studios produce a first-person adventure on the behalf of Nintendo?

Basically, what I'm asking, is will Metroid have a 'deathmatch' multiplayer mode?

If it did it could be great, but I fear that it probably won't, which would be an awful waste.

Anyone know for sure?

Excellent. Hopefully it will be as good as Goldeneye 007 on the vintage Nintendo 64.

I would be surprised if it didnt have a multiplayer mode. An opportunity wasted that would be.

Faeture's like scanning and "indestructable" rolling point to how Metroid isn't really and arcady multiplayer style FPS.

Still, Turok, Timesplitters and (eventually) PD 2/0 can easily fill that void.

Then again, I might be wrong...

Nope, it was 4P. It was quite good, too.

Hmm, I don't know if the GC version has bots, but it will have 4P.

I don't know for sure, but the last I heard, depressingly, was that there would be no multiplayer :-(

I'm not as keen on one-player FPShooters. Once you complete it, you don't play it again, me thinks.

I think most gamers now expect games to have at LEAST a 2-player game included, apart from RPGs and similar things.

Thats why i think any game with out a multiplayer will more or less not sell well, especially FPS, although most PS2 games are 1P or only have 2P when on the other formats have 4P.

James bond agent under fire is a good example on PS2 it only had 2P and no bots or none at all (im not sure) but then when its updated and able to use more power, e.g. the GC, it has 4 player and 3 bots.
