would i be able to run gta3 on a top of the range mac eg(dp g4 1ghz) with virtual pc 5?

Personally I doubt it - VPC will be emulating the x86 architecture, you won't be able to use the G4's "dual mode", and it has no decent graphics chipset - which will also be emulated. Basically you'll be running it in software mode at lower than 1ghz - possibly 600mhz-700mhz, and then you've got OSX running in the background which is a resource hungry beast.

That was mean't to say: As Virtual PC requires a load.

Basically, I'll assume you're running OS X, and therefore you'll need more RAM, but with a G4 1GHz, you're machine will rule the universe.

He gave his spec. A G4 1GHz which is a dual processor, and cost about £3,000. You'd need to have a lot of RAM, as it depends what OS you're running as Virtual PC, but 392Mb is ideal. Plus, you're running it on the most powerful processor you can get for a Mac, which will totally rule. So, I'd imagine so.

I hate to coin a phrase, but D-UH! Isn't that the entire point of top of the range PCs?
