With the announcement today that the ten non old firm Scottish Premiership teams have threatened to walk away from the division we have to ask again, what is the future for Scottish football?

The ten teams have all signed papers signalling their resignation from the league and all they would have to do to make it official is to hand them in. This latest of threats is again about money and the voting structure in Scottish football. The general opinion is that Rangers and Celtic are treated as far more important when in reality all 12 should have an equal say in the goings on. Just because Rangers and Celtic are by far and away the best teams, this shoulnd't give them extra control over the running of the league.

I am with the other 10 teams on this one. I don't necessarily believe a mass resignation from the league is the rioght thing to do but they have to do something, even if it simply serves to scare the Scottish FA in to changing things.

If the problem isn't resolved we come down to the old arguement over what should happen to Rangers and Celtic. I personally hope we don't hear any more talk of a move for the old firm in to English football. This idea seems only to benefit these two teams and will disadvantage many English clubs. I don't see a simple way of slotting two new teams in without damaging or annoying other English clubs, who should take priority.

What are other peoples views? What do you think is the future for Scottish football after todays news? And what will happen to Rangers and Celtic if the other 10 do resign from the Scottish Premiership?

I am sure it won't come to this but you never know.
