I've not visited the other forums (not a lot of point, as I don't plan on buying the consoles at this moment in time), but if what you say is true, then I can only put it down to fear.
It seems they don't want PS2 to exist because of some percieved threat to their own chosen machine. If they think PS2 is crap, fair enough. But deep down, they can't think that, because if they truly believed it, they wouldn't see PS2 as a threat, and wouldn't feel the need to constantly talk about it and sl@g it off.
On the other hand, if they *do* think PS2 is "better" than their chosen machine, then why buy it and not a PS2?
I guess we'll never figure out how their tiny minds work. All I can say is, thank heavens for sensible Sega/Nintendo fans such as Grix. Of course, the ranks of PS fans are not exempt from the idiots either, as we've seen on these forums. But at least the majority of us don't spend our time talking about other machines on a PS2 forum. Ho hum.
Still, I don't care... got my final PS2 confirmation today, and nothing else matters. Russia could nuke the US for all I care, and it wouldn't bother me in the slightest!

I cannot understand it, when you go to the Gamecube and Xbox forum's all they do is talk about Sony and the playstation 2 like they are in fear of it or something.
If someone has made the decision to part with a lot of money to buy a console whether it be Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox ofrS2, i say good luck to them, i not bothered what they buy and i cannot for the life of me get the reason why they do not want others to part with their money to buy a PS2.
Surely this is freedom of choice and we are all old enough to make our own informed decisions and i am sure no-one is stupid enough to fork out £300 for a PS2 and then the other couple of hundred for games and accessories by being carried away with the hype over Sony

Yes thats right. This is becuase of several flaws due to SONY's OVER confindent attitude.
The Black Fan Heater(called PS2), is very HARD to programme games for. This is becuase SONY has used hardware not seen before. This hardware is VERY expensive to programme games for. This is why MAJOR game developers have dropped making games. Also the DVD is CRAP and SLOW.
This is because they rushed the idea and quickly placed a DVD. SONY has LOST it. With DreamCast sales RISING like nobodys business, Christmas coming up with only DreamCast available, it looks like SEGA are rightfully back on TOP.
I'm off to play RESIDENT EVIL:CODE VERONICA(A SUPER GAME), which is only availabe to DreamCast owners. So no-one but DC owners will play the sequel to RESIDENT EVIL2...HAHA..
