I have already got a PS2 so i don't want to buy any games that are out on that.
I am going to get:

Shenmue
Shenmue2
Sonic Adventure

what others can anyone suggest for me, and what hardware do you think that i need

thanks for you help guys

Unless you have the version for PS2 id recomend Resi Evil : Code Veronica thats an ace adventure . The only difference between the dc and PS2 versions is that PS2 gets more FMVs of Albert Weskers thats all and maybe the graphics are a litlle bit spruced up

Been a while since I last had the Dreamcast running, lemme think...

Jet Set Radio.
Phantasy Star Online if you feel like forking out a fortune on your phonebill, or have a freephone provider other than AOL (you can configure the DC to use that instead of the Sega local rate one).
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is an older game now, but damn good all the same.
Ugh... can't think, I'll have a look through my horde of games later, and refresh my memory. If you can't find a copy of the game you're after in PAL format just buy the NTSC version and import it (unless the owner is already in the UK), get someone to burn a Boot CD or do it yourself, and you'll be able to play it. Dreamcast games are 50Hz/60HZ friendly, so you won't have a nasty black & white display, it'll play just like the PAL version but usually faster and without the letterbox border.

Yes, although it's quite difficult to find it these days.
Another RPG is Grandia II which is similar to Skies of Arcadia.
Shenmue 1&2 are the best, although a few people on here disagree. The Shenmue series still has the best graphics I've seen on a console.
Jet Set Radio is also a great game.

I thought Shenmue was a good game, but I did think it was a bit slow going, on of those 'rainy day' games for me. Shenmue 2 though, god, played that for 10mins, havn't played it since, didn't like the fact that they hadn't put in English Words.

Dreamcast was a good console though, as good as any other, but to me a console is just a hunk of processors and technical bits in a box, nothing special about one over the other.

Because there are no games I want to buy on the playstation 2 at the moment, or can affors to buy really, so...

Gamecube = £130
XBox = £200
GBA = £60
Dreamcast = aprox £35

plus the games are really cheap second hand

so its a cash flow thing really but....

i also love Sega!
and I have wanted Shenmue for ages, and my Boyf wants metropolis street racer (but sod him!)

I'll tell you but only 'cos there's a few people that know about it. I'll put it into code.

Go to where The Gamesman was. Look up the road and you'll see the corner of a shopping arcade. You know what one. There is a games shop on that corner. You know the name of it, too. But shhhhh. Go in there and ask for Jay. Then, ask him what deal he can do for you for the DreamCast with those games. Tell him you know Steve, Rob and Natalie.
