As far as im aware in order to defeat the dark aeons maximum stats or there abouts need to be achieved .
At this point in time my hp levels for all of my charcters are below 10,000 so i reckon... i got a long old way to go...
I heard from some folks that theres a " Don Tonberry AP trick " which if done correctly gives ya redicuoisly ammounts of AP in a little time as poss. As my m8s have the American version i was wondering if anyone can tell me if the trick works in the UK version or not, also im looking to start a huge Final Fantasy Forum which all fans of the series are invited and are welcome. Ive only played FF 7,8 and 10 so i gota alot of catching up to do! anyways any help on this AP trick will be much appreciated.
Respect to the Aeon massive.....

Yes you can do it on the UK PAL version:
If you've got Overdrive > AP Ability, go to the monster arena and fight Don Tonberry with one character on Stoic (this one attacks) and two characters on Comrade (use these characters to revive the character on Stoic once Don Tonberry kills him). You get AP equivalent to the damage points suffered in the battle even if you flee. To get Overdrive > AP Ability you need 10 Door To Tomorrow items which you can get by defeating/stealing from Bomb King (Monster Arena) or by bribing Mech Scouters with more than 13750 Gil (Calm Lands).
Anyway I borrowed a PS2 and this game the other day and I've started to play through it and I'm just wondering..
That first Blitzball game you play, can you actually win it?
Oh and I take it there's no world map on this one? Unless it comes into play later of course, at the moment I feel like I'm playing in that film (you know with that guy that's like a Hurcules character) sailing from Island to Island fighting monsters, ya.
Good game so far mind.
> That first Blitzball game you play, can you actually win it?
Yup. It helps if you get the Jecht Shot move for Tidus on the boat beforehand (the minigame is difficult to beat, save beforehand and then keep doing it till you beat it). If you haven't got the Jecht Shot, the key to winning is posession. If you've got the ball they can't score, and to keep the ball you just pass it between each of your players. So if you score first, you're in with a chance as long as they don't score a couple more afterwards.
> Oh and I take it there's no world map on this one?
No, no world map. However, you'll find that each area you visit starts to get larger and larger as you go, until eventually you'll hit the Calm Lands which makes you think "who needs a world map when I can travel over this huge area?".
Later on you get the airship, which you can then use to visit most places visited previously, using a 'sort of' world map. So it's not as linear as it looks at first.
Plus when I was on the boat learning the Jecht shot I just sat there and watched it roll I thought it was just part of the cutscene (it looked like one) and I would attempt it myself after.
Ah well. Ta Fm
