The weather didn't help.

Started Friday with band rehearsals at our local studio going on for four hours in a room, which was baking. I don't think I've ever sweated so much, that is until the next night, but we were due to headline the 18-band bill Wafflefest the next night, so we knuckled down and worked hard.

Got home about 12:30am, showered, went to bed, woke up the next morning at 7:30am. Still feeling tired, but dejected since I heard the letterbox go and initially thinking it was my Mario Sunshine. It wasn't. Sat downstairs and sulked for pretty much the entire morning.

Resigned to the fact that it was far too hot to do anything, so I watched Men In Black 2, after which, tried to catch a couple hours sleep. Didn't happen. So I popped down the pub for a bit of dinner, came back, watched half of Lord of the Rings, then got ready for the gig.

Got to the gig at around 9:45pm, the second you walked into the venue, the intense heat hit you, so much so, the gel on my hair melted within minutes.

Went into one of the rooms to set my equipment up and I was soaked with sweat within about 10 minutes. Got too much at one point and had to step out for a bit of air, went back in finished setting the stuff up.

Stage-time couldn't come quick enough. Got the drums up on stage, miked up and ready to go, quick soundcheck. Made sure the fan was pointing in my direction, drank pretty much all of the water I had next to me and I hadn't even started playing.

40 minutes later. The set had been played, we were all drenched with sweat, the lights didn't help, but it was fun - we had fun up there. Even though I was later told I looked like I was about to pass out. Packed away the equipment, got home at around 1am, had a shower, went to bed, lay there for a few minutes moaning it was too hot, slept downstairs instead.

Woke the next morning at around 7:30am since my missus' parents were due back from a 3-week holiday in China and we had to be over at my missus' house to finish cleaning up. Got over there about 8:30am. Took about 40 minutes to finish cleaning up. They showed up the second we finished cleaning.

Did nothing all day. Tried to recover from the previous day's events. Watched the Commonwealth Games. Watched The Osbournes. Slept.

Now the working week begins. Again.

Wafflefest? Fantastic.

Not as good as the 'Rearfest' that I went to though.
