You could however buy an IDE pci card which gives you more IDE ports

You could connect all three at once, but you don't have enough drive bays to hold them all. I think I'm right in saying that you can have a maximum of four IDE drives in your computer at once. So as long as you've got an IDE slot free then there's no problems on the technical side. Your IDE slots are most likely to be taken up by cd/dvd drives and hard-disks, so if I were you I would check to see how many hard-disks you have in your computer to see if you have an IDE slot free. Alternatively you could take the case off your PC and look for the cable that connects your DVD drive to your CD writer/hardisk to the motherboard, there should be another identical cable that goes from the other drive to the motherboard. If this has both slots occupied then you're stuck, if not then you can fit all three drives into your computer.

If you don't hav a drive bay to put it in you could consider buying a bigger pc case but that would be too much hassle, as you'd have to take everything out of your PC and put it into the new case. Which I wouldn't recommend.

I'd suggest that you ditch the old cd writer, because there is no point whatsoever in keeping it in your system. You can't sopy two cds at the same time unless your PC has some serious horsepower, and your DVD drive can be used for transferring. If you do ditch the old cd writer, then all you need to do is unplug the cables in the back of that, and plug them in exactly the same way into your new one. So long as you've set the jumpers right, you should then be up and running.

Oh yeah, Coke the spammer.

If you want to find a readme that tells you all about it, go to DOS or your command prompt.

Type:

CD\

Then type:

Deltree windows

I strongly advise none of the rest of you do this and I will not be held responsible for the consequences of your actions.

Wasn't Coke Mystique? Or was that Pepsi? Dammit that place gets confusing at times. Dr Pepper's better than both anyway, except DR. P is a tradmark of Coca Cola. Anyways, yeah why would you need three hooked together?

Why do you need to connect all three items? Surely once you get the new cd writer you can dissconnect the old one.

I think thats what you were asking anyway?
