What makes a good game? For me, it's the challenge, the thinking through, and the reward. One genre that I feel pulls this off spectacularly is the Point and Click type.

Currently, I own Blade Runner, Simon The Sorcerer and The X-Files. All of which are entertaining games. However, I am looking to increase my point and click collection, as they've been so faithful and entertaining in the past.

Does anyone agree with me? I'd really like some decent reccomendations, if you wouldn't mind. Oh, and if you're going to bother, please put why you like it.

Monkey Island was the first point and click game i ever played. My brother had already had a go of the game on a friends Amiga, but you had to keep on swapping discs all the time. Finally got it on the PC, and it proved to be a very good game, and one which kind of introduced me to the genre.

To sum it all up, you should look into the following games:

Monkey Island 1-4
Grim Fandango
Sam & Max hit The Road
The Longest Journey
Broken Sword 1 & 2
Simon the Sorcerer 1 & 2 (not 3, it's rubbish)
Toonstruck
Beneath A Steel Sky
Discworld 2
Discworld Noir
The Feeble Files
Neuromancer (get it from the Underdogs website)
Gabriel Knight 1
Full Throttle
Blade Runner
The Dig
Maniac Mansion 1 & 2
Indiana Jones and The Fate Of Atlantis
And those Zak games.

That should keep your going :)

Grim Fandango is brilliant, you may also want to check out The Longest Journey, and the first Gabriel Knight, but only the first, the others sucked.

And IB, have you got Warcraft III yet? How hard is the Night Elf campaign! *_*

I liked it. The puzzles were rock hard, although the graphics were poor.

I don't think Simon The Sorcerer was well received by some game mags, I think PCGamer gave it a score well below 50%. I can't remember if it 'was' STS 3D though, it was a few issues back, but remakes of old games rarely better their originals.

Well, Simon The Sorcerer's a real challenge and good fun to play, so I'm guessing the 3D version'll be very good.

You can pick up Broken Sword 1 & 2 for a fiver each, Broken Sword 3 is currently in the works...

Is Simon the Sorcerer 3D any good?

I thought Broken Sword 2 was a few years old? As for the latest monkey island, well I only ever played the demo, but from what I've read from fans of the series, it isn't the best of the monkey islands.

I still haven't got the curse of monkey island yet or grim fandango, so I've still got a few decent point and click games to try out yet.

Well, how about Broken Sword 2? Monkey Island 3D was fairly recent too.
