But with all the developments in online gaming and language barriers being sorted out, I was thinking how great it would be to have a game where every player who enters can become part of an ongoing storyline........Basically a game with no real ending but just keeps going. Probably got you all confused now, but i'll explain it.........

Ok, lets say this story is based in well, the universe with all kinds of solar systems and planets. You have just entered the game as a new player, you then design a character out of thousands, maybe millions of different body part choices and give them a name. From here you choose a planet to be your characters home planet out of a list (with descriptions of each planets surface available).

Once this is all decided you end up on the surface of the chosen home world just outside one (of possibly quite a few depending on the planet) of the towns. From here it is upto you to control your characters destiny.

From the moment you enter this first town you are able to talk with other characters, some players and some AI controlled. There can be ways of earning money (1 currency for the whole game)and a seemingly endless list of things to buy from simple weapons to small ships. There are many ways to play that shape this experience to bring you into the game.

There could be different styles of hand to hand fighting on different planets just like martial arts and the ways of fighting that exist with us today.
These can be freely learned (maybe even learning different styles from different planets and blending them together). Some players may prefer to stay on their own planet and achieve things there.
Where others may sign up as part of warring factions fighting in space and planet surfaces.
Governments can rise and fall, rebel factions against certain governments can be created. Some players may find themselves even commanding a fleet of ships because of battles and strategies they have achieved.

Players that were once happy to stay on 1 planet may find themselves drawn into wars. Other characters that become close friends fight beside you and possibly even perish.

Mechs, heavy weapons, martial arts style fighting, small ships, large fleets of big ships, even homes and shops are there to be bought and used. Your character is there with a destiny for you to shape.

Even if you fight for a faction and they are defeated and destroyed, you can still take your character on from there - as time goes by you'll have plenty of experiences to share with other players :-)

If your character is killed then you can create a new character and because this game is a plot based around players actions (with add ins from the company that would have created it), it wouldn't be like starting from the boring beginning. You would be taking part in battles that lots of people will never see but by chatting to them can be passed on (kinda like old people passing on their WW2 stories haha).

Things like fighting tournaments can be held with money prizes for players that prefer to stay out of these big wars but still want something challenging on the planets and players may even prefer to go their own way and become criminals or bounty hunters that kill or capture criminals, etc through contracts that are offered.
Maybe a few players will become a group of criminals and gradually find themselves gaining power (as well as a raising price on their head).

Planets can be taken by factions that are powerful enough to do so which of course becomes the basis of different factions going to war.

Overall, a game like this cannot happen right now. But oneday i think something like this could really take gaming to a whole new level. A story not controlled by 1 creators vision, but the ambition and vision of millions.
