Boffins at the LINEAR observitory otherwise known As the Lincoln Near Earth Asteriod Research Project.
They predicted that their is a chance that the asteriod will hit earth in the year 2019 on February 1st.

There has also been another "near-miss" about 6 weeks ago but the asteriod had only been spotted 3 days after it passed earth.
I think that the Goverment aren't taking the threat seriosly and are just laughing it of over lunch.
Where are they all coming from?
