This story has TWO alternate endings. What one would you like Shigsy to do more!?
Shigsy woke up the next morning and suddenly remembered a very important thing he’d done yesterday. He gave a gasp and flew out of his bed – kicking his stuffed Pikachu out of the way and trampling over some made-to-scale Pikmin, Shigsy waded through the Nintendo memorabilia on his floor and reached his PC. He typed in “gameaday.co.uk” and waited impatiently for the page to load. While he was hopping about in excitement he noticed himself in the mirror. “No, no, that won’t do at all,” he mumbled to himself. He took off his wig and inflated the balloon underneath to the perfect roundness. The wig went back on and he smiled like this – Aaaaah…
The page appeared and Shigsy anxiously clicked on GAD winners 2. He scrolled down and…yes…there was his name! He shrieked with joy and danced around in a manga style fashion. There it was, on the screen; Contributor – Shigsy, Winning Contribution – Mario Sunshine review.
Grinning, Shigsy shut off his PC and sat back on his bed…what to claim? What to claim? He picked up a pen and paper and wrote a list of possible games, and whether or not he should claim them.
MARIO SUNSHINE
Remember I’d have to wait till October to claim, and why would I do that when I can get it from home anyway? It’ll be in short supply as well due to high demand…I think I’ll give this one a miss. Besides, if I’m going to have to wait six years for the next one I’d better stretch this one out!
LUIGI’S MANSION
This could be a real contender; I like quirky things (eyes up banjo in corner) and playing with Luigi would be refreshingly different. It’s a bit short though and I like a game I can really get meh teeth into and play for months. I’d like to have a go with the dual-analogue thing as well, it sounds really kooky (does weird manga dance)
PIKMIN
Hell no. Reminds me far too much of the bad acid trip I had the other weekend. I still have the nightmares…rocket ship!? Oh no!
STAR WARS: ROGUE LEADER
Ah, this could be good. It sold really well so it must have some decent features. I love Star Wars too, so this might be a, a real treat if I were to claim it. However I don’t know too much about it and really like to research everything I’m going to do. I mean, I have my own R&D Department, for Pete’s sake! Maybe I could look it up on ukreviews.com…but I have a cave to explore AND some gardening to get done before my Metroid check-up! Shame…I would have liked to go for this one.
RESIDENT EVIL
I’ve heard great things about this series, and if they’re going to be coming to GameCube then I guess I should play it…but then it means a wait till November! Waaaaah! (Does weird manga dance and boots his stuffed Pikachu out the window) I hate waiting for games! But the screenshots look so good! And decent voice-acting!? In a videogame!? That needs to be seen to be believed!

ENDING ONE
Shigsy dropped his pen and pad to his lap and sighed. He simply couldn’t decide what he wanted. All the games were good, but he always found ways they could be improved and weren’t so great sometimes. He booted up his PC, got on ukchatforums.com and started a topic called “GAD! Help me choose…”
ENDING TWO
Then it hit him – why didn’t he just make a new game to claim as a GAD!? He hurriedly scanned the notes he’d made on all the games and decided to make the perfect GAD game…he flipped over to a fresh page on his pad and started scribbling down some notes.
Quick PAL releases. No more waiting times for Europe! And longer games, released more frequently, to stop regular GAD winners from having to wait a long time.
A really innovative, quirky game, that’s different enough from everything else to really make people want to try for a GAD just to try and claim that game! Dual analogues are always good, and try to re-invent old characters.
NEVER EVER MAKE A GAME BASED ON AN ACID TRIP AGAIN.
Star Wars is always good! Do plenty of research into what you want to include in your game.
Play through similar games to see where you can improve and re-invent. Make the game as graphically appealing as possible, and employ decent voice actors.
Shigsy finished his list, cancelled his Exploring, Gardening and Metroid appointments, and rushed over to Nintendo HQ to start working on the ultimate GAD game…he only had 90 days!
