I found a website about funny things which have been engraved on tombstones. Some are great and some have clearly been chosen by an enemy of the deceased. Here are a few examples and these are 100% genuine messages on tombstones around the world (mainly in America)
Here lies Ezekiel Aikle, Age 102,
The good die young
Here lays Butch, we planted him raw,
He was quick on the trigger, but slow on the draw
Here lies a man named Zeke
Second fastest draw in Cripple Creek
(On the grave of an auctioneer)
Jedediah Goodwin Born 1828
Going!
Going!!
Gone!!! 1876
Tears cannot restore her
Therefore I weep
Here lies an athiest
All dressed up and no place to go
(On a hypochondriacs grave)
I told you I was sick
Here lies the body of Jonathan Blake
Stepped on the gas instead of the brake
(On the grave of a woman whose ex husband was buried in Texas)
All things considered
I would rather be here than in Texas
What do you think of these and more to the point what would you have on your gravestone? Why not write one for someone else and post it here.
