Nintendo's mascot 3D platformer, Super Mario Sunshine, released in Japan on July 19 and has sold more than 400,000 units in four days.The title has averaged sales of more than 100,000 units per day.
Sunshine is expected to be Nintendo's second GameCube title to roll through the one million sold mark. If the game's sell rate continues, it could achieve this goal in little more than one standard week.
Mario's latest adventure is already nearing total sales of Luigi's Mansion and Pikmin, and looks to fly right by those efforts and more on its way to take on GCN's current biggest seller, Super Smash Bros. Melee.
