I know this hasn't been talked about in the papers for a while but it is an issue which doesn't seem as if it will go away. The proposal for Rangers and Celtic to move in to the English leagues has been seriously considered in recent months.

What do people think about this?

In my opinion it is a terrible idea and should be scrapped immediately. If you add them to the Premiership there will be two options.
1. More teams in the Premiership (I don't think so, there are too many games already)
2. Relegate two extra teams to make space (that hardly seems fair on the two clubs who go down)

The second proposal was to put them in Division One and make them work their way up. This poses the same problems as above and I don't see why two clubs should give up their place in a league so two Scottish teams can enter.

Yet another problem is it would destroy the Scottish Premiership. I know they always run away with the league in Scotland but the smaller clubs rely on the money genereated by having Rangers and Celtic in Scotland. For example the huge gate receipts for those games and the extra TV coverage. Without the money generated by these clubs could the others survive?

Add your own views. Do you think Rangers and Celtic should be allowed in to the English league?

Also add your views as to where you think they would finish in the Premiership.

Rangers and Celtic won't join the English league. The reason the talk in the papers has stopped is because Rangers and Celtic have a greed a new deal with the SPL and the rest of the teams, so they don't have to leave any more.

Oh, and if they were in the Premiership, Celtic would finish between 4th and 8th and Rangers would finish between 12th and 16th. I think.
