I know someone who believes that you have to relate to games to have fun in them. therefore, mario, sonic, goldeneye, crash, deus-ex, max payne and other extra-ordinary games are not good to him. Is this a PS2 owner thing? Or do they really have to? If so, why is gaming considered a form of escapism when they have to be real? if they were 'real' real, with real physics and stuff, wouldn't it be boring? Real racing driving games would be extremly difficult, complex, and short. Someone would crash the car and the game would never work again, because your character would be dead! Or would 'real' real games be good?

Tell him to look at buying Majestic from Eidos. That, as one of my previous topics suggests, blurs the boundary between reality and virtual reality. The game itself hasn't done very well, though, but he might like it.

There was a letter in a games mag saying about how people say games are unrealistic and then those same people go home and play a tennis game with a gorilla and a flying turtle in it.

I agree that has happened to me before someone told me my car was rubbish then drove off in a metro.

anyway I digress. My point is Realistic or not games have to make you want to play them by being fun. Realistic games being short? well you could always choose a different driver. What about games like the aformentioned tennis game they would all be the same as they could only have REAL tennis players in them.

Either way if it's fun play it If not well CD's make good bird scarers.
