I have windows XP proffesional and I have got loads of rubbish on my computer I want to know how to format your computer to get rid of all my stuff

You sure thats a sound thing to do I dont want to do anything because Ahem I have things a technition must not see. Its not illegal stuff just embarrasing stuff.

yeah but unlike savatt you didn't get loads oh *ahem* anyway formating XP hmmm when i tried it stupid windows says "can't do that cause i'm such a crap OS and i'm using crap on that drive" well something like that so i whacked the HDD in my dads machine as a second HDD and wiped it on windows from that hehe

but if you don't have a second system delete loads of crap from the windows directory till it's missing a file it needs to boot up then put windows (or whatever OS your gunna put on it) in the cd rom boot from the CD rom and if it's windows it will ask if you wanna format the HDD.

Tell us if you do it and how won't you mate :)

Try right clicking on the C-Drive and search down the list, one of them should be format. If not insert the installation disc as it should tell you on there what steps to take if you want to format your Hard Drive. But first try the right clicking on Hard Drive and see from there.

I used to have win 98 and could format that ok but with windows xp I cant find A way to do it

Not too sure about XP, but I have Windows 98 and when I want to clear up my Hard Drive I use the Disk-Defragmenter and clear all temporary files on my computer, clear the files first before Defragmenting, if you want to know anymore just ask! :)
