This is a question for SR staff.
I have a BT home highway ISDN line at home.
As well as home internet access I also use it to dial up my work for occasional working from home.
A such, ADSL would be no use for me as I would have to revert to using a modem for work dial-up and lose my 128k link (my work supports channel bonding).
This means I am losing out on cheaper internet access through freeola.
My questions are:-
1) is Freeola still looking at 0800/unmeterd dial-up?
2) (and more importantly for me) will it support 128k access? No other ISp I have yet found provides umetered access AND 128k ISDN support. I cannot see why not! I would even be prepared to pay a small extra premium for the privelage.
Obiously ADSL would be ideal, but I would lose my teleworking link (not good), so I'm stuck with ISDN, and only 64k unmeterd access, unless you guys at Freeola can come to the rescue!

Of course, what BT didn't makre clear when they suckerd me into Home Hihway was that, come the ADSL revolution, they would charge me an extortionate fee for an engineer to come and put my line back to normal before I can get ADSL!!
So I miss out on the cheap 'plug-and-go' packages.
serves me right for being a speed-freak to early.
Mind you - when I got Home Highway, ADSL still seemed like being a pipe-dream as BT was dragging it's heels so much.

Sorry it took so long to reply cjh.
No I couldn't use FTP as our work is inside a firewall, and you have to dial in with a userid and password in order to access the internal network.
Ah well I suppose I'll have to go with ADSL and just use a standard 56k modem for work access.

The only thing is everyone (BT, etc) is trying to gear everyone (the public) to use ADSL and not standerd phone line connections to th Internet, so I can't see freeola doing this now. They never really showed much interest in 0800 accounts before to be honest, or if they did they didn't show it.
Not entirly sure how your work connection works through your ISDN, but if you had ADSL, could you not use FTP to connect to the systems at work??? or is that not possible???

Well I'm actually using Windows2000 and it also supports this.
It's actually standard with ISDN modems and is called channel-bonding or channel aggregation.
If I had to use 2 accounts to do this then fine, as long as the cost of 2 unmetered connections wasn't too extorntionate (e.g. £12 a month x 2 = £24 a month?).
ASDL would still work out as more bang for my buck, but as I still require isdn that's a no-no at the moment.

Hmmmm. Are you using Windows XP? If so, I think this might work.
Find an ISP which offers unmetered access for 64K digital lines. Then set up 2 accounts. Windows XP has a feature to allow two modems to work together.
I can't quite remember how to do it, but I'm sure if you search in Windows Help, it will tell you how. Alternatively, there are probably many freeware programs available to allow you to use two modems at once.

The reason you can't find anyone who does it is because it's the equivalent of 2 lines, therefore costs freeola twice as much, yet you want to pay the same amount..
