Nintendo have the ultimate plan for the future, instead of the risk of online gaming, they will delve into the highly populated genre *cough* of communication games. Nintendo sees them as the future, none of this expensive, lag ridden online gaming the competitors are hyping up.
All you need is a good communication game!! But er what actually is a communication game. At the moment there is Doshin the Giant, Animal Leader and Animal Forest which all come under this new genre. All three rely heavily on the gamer living and interacting in a virtual world. Boy, its hard enough doing that in the real world!!
Is Nintendo taking an edutainment route? After all we could all do with brushing up with our communication skills, well scousers anyway. Or is this genre another example of crazed Japanese genius?? We will find out when the communication genre comes over here, if Nintendo believe Western gamers are ready for it. After all we are more simple and less creative than the Japanese.
But to be honest, I am anitcipating the communication genre more as online gaming.
