The storyline is so (and hence where the film actually begins), a young female by the name of Rowan manages to lure the monstorous killer Jason into a freezing chamber, but in this event also freezes herself. 400 years later, a team of students are on the same vessel and come across Jason's chamber. Soon, a number of bodies are found scattered around the ship and the team are introduced to Jason, who had slowly began to thaw after they removed him and Rowan from the freezer. They now have to get out of the ship by any means neccessary, or attempt to kill Jason.
***VERY LIGHT SPOILER ALERT***
I think that Jason X is a film which you can sit down and watch with no strings attatched, something which can not be said about a lot of horror films, which entail pages of plot. It's by far not the most original plot around, and it's in esscence a black comedy, with several witty and jokey lines (including the infamous "I think he wants his machete back!"). As I said, it's just a no strings attatched film, and the violence comes quick and heavy, but really not that explicit. My one gripe is the sci-fi feel that the film has to it, but I suppose that it can't be helped in a film with said storyline. Such parts as Azrael re-generating an arm are just unrealistic, but then, it could be said isn't that what films are all about? Kay-Em 14, Tsunaron's sex robot is a strange touch, but still ties in with the sci-fi feel to it nonetheless, and at one point, it is easy enough to think that Jason has been seduced by the sex and drugs. Jason's leg re-forming to his body in a silver liquid after Kay-Em blows his leg off is just a blatant rip-off of Terminator 2, though, and a stupid reason as to why his figure metamorphisises to a silver look. Finally, I found the ending to be very unbelievable, but then again, this is a film, so who cares!
Overall, Jason X is a decent film which you can watch any time of the day (preferably late at night, as I did), any day with no hassle. The acting is decent, although sometimes the actors seem stupid, and the lousily corny pick-up lines make it seem as though the character have no common sense at all, which is not the case. In my opinion, whether a 10th Jason is in the cards is questionable, as the ending doesn't really hint as to whether he's gone for good or if he will be back, so it's a mixed bag of opinions for me. Anyway, good enough film - 8/10.

Did like the freezing of the face in liquid nitrogen and then smashing her head against the worksurface though.
Oh, the regen-thing turning him into some indestructible cyborg was just silly. If it could do that, surely everyone would jump in there and have the computer make them into lethal killing machines as a matter of course?
**Watch out for SPOILERS**
Compared to how Halloween tried to revive itself with H2o, this is a million times better. Halloween H2o was more of the same, with Jason X there's an appreciation of what the series has become, and it mocks it completely. Look at the way Jason awakens because of teens having pre-marital sex, for instance.
Also, in my opinion, the death scenes were great. I mean, freezing a girls face then smashing it off. Excellent. And the way the guy kept sliding down the screw, top stuff.
It's a shame that so many people will be put off seeing it because of all of the poor sequels that came before it. (Of which I've seen all, but part 2!)
Preety cool film anyway, could have done with more Gore and an 18 certificate but it could have been much worse. Can't wait for the next in the series and you knwo there will be one, I kinda hope it gets back to the usual setting of a Summer Camp.
Roll on Freddy VS Jason
I'm quite confused, in Part 9 he goes to hell with the aid of Freddy's glove and now for some reason a girl is putting him in a freezer. Ahh well it's a Horror sequel it's not suppoed to make sense.
