I thought everyone knew this but due to a few recent posts obviously not, press Alt and whilst holding that press and hold any combination of three of the numbers on the very right of your keyboard,gives you cool symbols and letters!

Because SR is a UK site, it doesn't really need to cater for other languages. If they placed a META tag on all their web pages, telling the site to a character set of UTF=8, then all these other characters (like chinese, russian and japanese letters) would show up.

If I go to the character map, I see arabic and hebrew letters as well as English!

Shame they don't show up on the SR forums though...

Oh, and you can also do it with 4 numbers while holding ALT.

Press Num Lock until the little light on your keyboard is on, then try it.

Nope nothing comes up for me. Who likes my tagline?

To get the codes for the various symbols, go to START > PROGRAMS> ACCESORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS > CHARACTOR MAP. Click on the symbol, and in the corner, it will reveal a code. Most/All PC's have this program. Very useful too, I made a desktop toolbar in the bottom left hand corner.
