"The Annual Awards Ceremony"

Building on ShadowDragon's idea of a Gaming Hall Of Fame, what if there was a gaming awards ceremony (you know what I mean, I know there are things like OPSM2's best games and the BAFTA's best game award, but I mean something bigger - like the oscars). Who would attend? Would it encourage the games creators to make more and better games? What would your nominations be? Mine would be:

Best FPS: Goldeneye 007 - It was revolutionary at it's time and still is a great game.
Best Shooter: Rogue Squadron 2 - With such fast paced action, it keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Best Sim: Roller Coaster Tycoon - Tactics, thinking, everything a good sim should be.

This is just a brief list, but leave what games you think are top of their genres and why (multi-format).

(c) - (No offence, but I might want to turn this into a GAD attempt soon so don't go nicking my idea or I'll send big dave and the dogs after you).

Yeah, I still play that. All my mates say I should move on, it was done and dusted five years ago. But I don't care. Just because a game is old doesn't mean it's crap. Heck, I still play Donkey Kong Country!

Hehe, sorry, I didn't actually expect the staff to reply to that....I'm still waiting for my chicken coop to be painted though!

All I can suggest is re-posting your idea in the SR Customer Services forum and hope they actually take notice this time...maybe give it an unusual title like my Corn Muffins topic :)
