There's no mention of being able to play our own music over the game using the Xbox's hard drive.

There's no mention on the CT3 homepage that you can rip your tunes of choice over the game, but I must say the music is just fine.
Like you say, some old, some new - perfect for me.
The mini-games do look good - this time round I think they will be realy worth playing. I think there's 25+ mini-games altogether.

i wish they had like 10 tracks for each city cos i remember getting really bored hearing the same few tracks over and over and over again after my 3rd go in ct1 and 2

It still might be possible to use our own favourite tunes, but at the moment nothing has been mentioned on the CT3 homepage.
The music on the soundtrack does fit with the game really well though.
