two things, one when exactly will internet capabilities be released for the ps2 and two how much will it cost to go online???

It's due later this year in the US, with the UK hopefully not far behind. There has been speculation that it won't happen in the UK, but I can't see it not happening. Sony have been testing with a couple of UK service providers for about a year now.

No-one knows yet, because Sony haven't decided themselves. It's unlikely to be very expensive, as Sony will want as many people as possible to take it up.
Chances are getting online won't cost you anything, because one thing we DO know is that Sony's package will let you get online using your EXISTING ISP connection.
Charges are likely to be for use of the game servers, but whether those charges will come from Sony or the game developers themselves (i.e. if they'll be running their own servers) really remains to be seen.
