Well, it doesn't really. I've got both a Nintendo GameCube and a Sony Playstation 2 and though I regard Nintendo as the best games company out there, it's hardly beating the PS2 at the moment. Your X-Box statement, however, I agree with - but I wouldn't phrase it that way if I were you :).

The two games I have at the moment are Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader and Super Smash Bros. Melee. These, I feel, are the best games out so far, and yes, I would strongly reccommend Super Smash Bros. Melee as it's an addictive game with good graphics, sound and lifespan.
One more thing, if you want to shed that evil title 'newbie', I'd stop posting threads like this, or phrase them a bit more subtly. People aren't to fond of 'fanboys' (as they're called) here.

You could try Pikmin, as I find it a great game, and well worth the money, even if it is a bit short.
It can be fun at first, but it's a game that gets quickly boring.
A mate of mine got it on the PS2 and sold it within 2 weeks.

Hmmmm... I'm not really sure, but Sonic is terrible, I'm afraid.

I like Nintendo, but I'm not going to reply like that, as I have a PS2 as well. Ninty are my favourites, but saying things about Nintendo's rival consoles just makes you look like a fanboy and gets you hated by some other users of the site.

Unfortunetly I don't have a GameCube yet, but if I did have one, my games of choice would be Pikmin, Super Monkey Ball, Rogue Leader, Smash Bros Melee and Wave Race.
For the future, I would go for Starfox Adventures, Mario Sunshine, F-Zero GC, Mario Kart GC, Kameo, Tony Hawk's 4, Super Monkey Ball 2, Mario Party 4 and Driver 3 (yes, it's on GC). Zelda doesn't really appeal to me.
