could someone help me with a problem.

Use Tweak XP. it's free on issue 8 of the Windows XP Mag.
I was having a huge number of problems with IE, and managed to get rid of all of them by running a program called adware, that cleanses your computer of spyware apparently. While it may sound like a random suggestion it does seem to work, and when someone suggested it to me I was sceptical.
Anyway it's free so just do a google search for adware, download it and give it a try if nothing else works.
I have to say though, I'd be more than happy if pop-ups didn't load...

Go to Tools > Internet Options. Click on the Advanced tab, and then "Restore to Defaults". Now try and see if you get pop ups again.
i do not have a firewall running and no errors are given
Some pop-ups are just dodgyilly done, or their purpose isn't to show you something. Click on my name, if you get a pop-up with information then it's OK.
Do you have a firewall and do you get an error message
