Excellent, really enjoyable movie -though towards the end I thought that it wasn't working, until the twist (if yu can really call it that) came, and set it back on track.
Anyway, point of the thread, I'm sure that it turned by DVD player volume down.
Did anyone else notice this?
Because DVD has more dynamic sound than other formats, this apparently results in a lower volume level than VHS for instance.
I only know this because I was ripping clips from one film on to my PC, and the guide I had for how to do it claimed that you had to increase the volume setting when you ripped to ensure it came out at a "normal" volume level.
Anyway enough technical mumbo jumbo, "The Man Who Wasn't There" rocks. Apparently they wanted to include giant ants instead the other b-movie reference (don't want to spoil things) and that would have been even better. I don't know how they would have fitted the plot around that one, but I think that was why the idea got dropped. Shame.
