First off I'm not moaning or saying games with bad camera angles are rubbish, because I believe every game should be given a chance. I am talking about the amount of enjoyment that is destroyed because of the bad camera angles. I may be the only one who has a problem, am I a perfectionist?.. No I'm not but I do like my games that I play to be enjoyable. Well that's the one element that keeps us gamers happy, right?

Anyway onto my problem with games which are spoilt by bad camera angles. Recently I have borrowed my friend's copy of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, the multiplayer is fine and that was what got me interested in the main game. So there I was quite happily waiting for the screen to load up, ready to control the spikey little hedgehog. The cut scene was complete and I was about to be in control, every thing seemed good and I was admiring the games graphics.

After ten minutes of gameplay I wasn't enjoying the game very much at all. Why you may ask... well I personally could not stand the camera angles. They were just too much for me, which resulted in the game being taken out. That is the main aspect of gaming which I love; the fun. What happened to my dreams of killing some badies and evil robots? The multiplayer had offered me great gaming and what was I offered from the single player? A great story line and probably a great game, but I was too annoyed with the camera to carry on. Why do they have to make the angles like this? :(

Also another game has recently put me off playing it, it is a game which I thought I would love to play. A game that is filled with fun, highflying times and a good story line. Yes I'm talking about Spiderman the movie; so much fun is packed into this game right? Well it did discharge a lot f fun for me, but sooner rather than later it was taken away from me like a bone from a dog. The game had so much potential for me but it just annoys me to see these camera angles being put together in a way that only certain gamers can enjoy.

There are not many games which I don't enjoy, there are not many games I don't give a chance; but games which are so packed full of fun and then let down by camera angles just disappoint me. I'm not moaning or saying that the games that I have mentioned are bad; they are good games but just not the ones for me.

Do bad camera angles annoy you?

Thanks for reading :)

Sometimes, when a camera angle is really bad, say, on a particularly evil level, then I ind conquering the blighter immensely satisfying, owing to the fact that I overcome a cack camera angle.
However, bad camera angles are one of the reasons a chair next to the one I play in has a rather large dent in it, thanks to my hand.

Thanks for your replies guys :) I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that some games (a very few minority) are let down by bad camera angles.

Cool post Kerringue (like Lemon Meringue pie, yes?), hopefully another GAD for you then :)

Anyway, yes it does annoy, and does anyone else think that all Resident Evil: Director's Cut did was illistrate the fact of cack camera angles even more?

Yeah, I hate games with dodgy camera angles, but I try to work around the problem when I come across it, and it is happening less often now, Or am I just making better choices in games. I had sonic 2 on the Dreamcast though, and I loved that.

I think bad camera angles annoy every gamer. Super monkey ball isnt too bad, but i would have liked the c-stick to be able to mave the camera freely.
