You're playing a game during the day and you are listening to the cool music and enjoying the graphics, when all of a sudden out of the blue, (Huge Gasp) your mum turns the corner to your room and right in front of her you see the dreaded vacuum cleaner. Now being the sly type of person you are you try and get around this problem.

"Mum I'm really far and I need to finish this part. Can't you do this later?"
"No, because I'm going out later. Just save it come back after."
"But I can't save it."
"Start again later then because I'm in a hurry."

Okay then plan A failed. Now it's time for plan B. This is bound to work.

"Mum can I do the vacuuming in here and I'll be finished..."
"No way!"

Plan B didn't work so I guess it's over. Unless I pause it and lift up the console and put it on the T.V. That way it's not in the way. You're a genius. Anyway you put it onto the T.V. and tell your mum to vacuum away. But wait. The wires are in the way. You grab them and try to force them in between your cuboard and your chest of drawers. So far it's not working. Why? Oh maybe because it's plugged into the mains. You pull it out. The screen goes black. Oh my God.

Has this happened to you. It's happened to me plenty of times before, well apart from the plug in the mains bit, because I'm not stupid. Okay it happened twice then... okay three times. Happy. The only upside to this is the fact that this makes my games last much longer, but repeating the same part can be dull, so here are some ways of getting this pesky problem out of your life one and for all.

1. You could try taking your Gamecube outside the back garden. It's simple and effective. I've done it since I've been off school and I've had no problems, well until it started raining. But it's okay my parents haven't found the television yet. All you need is a television, console and an extension lead and away you go. Problems aren't too bad. Mainly the natural ones like rain, snow, hurricane. But if it isn't raining the quietness and natural environment give you great pleasure. 7/10.

2. Next one is a great place to play in. Take it into the car, which by the way is on your drive and not when nobody's driving. It may be cramped but it is quiet and the radio is right there, along with air conditioning too, if you have it. Problems are that the car may not always be there. It may be stolen or borrowed. You also need one of the tiny screens for the console for maximum fun, bit expensive though. If not then just use the extension lead again, just don't close the door. 6/10.

3. Playing round a friend's house is probably most obvious, although may not work everytime. Like if you have no friends or they are out which is a high probability or even if it is inappropriate there. It's great fun with multiplayer and it doesn't matter about weather either. 8/10

4. Lastly there is the easy option which may get you in trouble, but if you want privacy then it's very effective. All you need to do is put up a "do not enter sign" which is highlighted in red pen. No only joking, you have to lock the door. If your parents ask for you to open it say you can't becasue it's stuck. Problem is that if they call the fire department then you have to move to Egypt, hide in a pyramid and stay in a coffin for the last few days of your life. Scared myself a little there. 9/10 but trouble rating is 15/10.

So now all you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy your favourite game in peace and quiet, because remeber a happy player is someone who plays alone or sometyhing like that. Great Luigi's Mansion. Let's play. The console is starting up and here we go. The screen goes black and so do the lights. Powercut. Oh c...

Thanks for reading.

I'll probably go in the back garden, if it's not raining.

Great post Ghost Killer. The first part was funny. I agree, £150 is too much for the screen and battery pack.

But, it would cost you £150 for both and it might not be worth it.

Hey, you can buy that LCD screen that attaches to the GameCube now. I've tried it out and it's pretty cool. I know Nintendo have the battery pack planned, or something for it to be used in the car, too.
