"Stupid bank"

Grr, some things just make me mmmaaaddd.

I recently passed my driving test, and as such, need to get a rather hefty loan from the bank to buy a car. Also, I received a letter from my representative at the bank informing me I am incurring charges when I get overdrawn (which happens every rarely) and I must set up a meeting with her as soon as possible. The thing is, the nearest HSBC bank to me is in Harlow, and I work in Sawbridgeworth. The only times this bank is open, is 9-5 on weekdays. Not on weekends.

Now call me crazy, but surely a large majority of people who have bank accounts are working all week? Wouldn't it make sense to be open at least for a few hours on the weekend so all those who can't make it in during the week because they're busting their hump working can sort out their finances? This means I'll have to take time off work to get to the bank, pay for travel to Harlow to get there and pay for travel to get back, racking up a rather large cost for me. And they're complaining that I'm incurring charges when I'm overdrawn? Because of stupid stuff like this, you idiots!

Grrrr.

I have a £1500 interest free overdraft with HSBC, doesn't stop them being a complete bunch of *********************************

I've had enough of banks, especially after the last time I had to wait like 30 mins in a queue...

Do all my banking online these days. Near enough buy everything online as well. Clothes, games, hell...even Tesco deliver food to your door these days. Hell, i hardly leave the house unless absolutly necessary...

I have a Woolwich Open plan account and it is brilliant you get £100 overdraft no charges you get cheque book you can open seperate acounts within it ie savings + they open saturday mornings too and you can to to branch , online are use a mobile etc.

I sent off for some stuff to go about opening an account, and they sent the wrong stuff. Now I have to wait even LONGER to cash all the cheques I have lying around

Snuggs, ive had problems with them too recently, nothing like yours, but I agree with you mate: Banks are pants.

Congratulations on passing your driving test. I passed mine on Wednesday.

Banks in cities do open at weekend, in places where you could probably pop in your break from work anyway.

I do most banking over the internet now.

what sort of car are you getting?.....I want one of those lovely new mini coopers.
