I recently purchase a Geforce 4 (creative labs) which I am very pleased with. however, it has had some adverse effects on my system. Internet Explorer was randomly crashing, which didn't bother me too much as I use Mozilla now, and can get by with using IE just for my online banking etc.

What is doing my head in is that I can't receive streaming audio from sites such as radio 1, as realplayer crashes as soon as it loads, and refuses to load again, unless I reset my system.

I went on softseek.com (now ZDNET or something) and downloaded several other replacements, which don't work.

Does anyone else know of this problem and how to sort it out? I miss being able to listen to the radio via my PC.

Cheers

Heh, actually yours is a GeForce 2, They just sell it as a GF4 because a) They can and b) It wouldn't sell unless it was a GF4.

from what I can gather, there a quite a few problems with compatability with creative labs gfx cards. my friend has a geforce 2 and has problems with that. As mine is a geforce 4 (and therefore pretty new) there is likely to be even more bugs. perhaps they should stick to sound cards, which they are good at...?

no, everything is fine as audio goes, but realplayer just crashes as soon as it loads. I've reinstalled it and tried realone player, but with the same results. As realplayer is the only supported software for most audio streams, I can't find a way round it.

I've re-installed my gfx card drivers, re-installed windows etc, run registry cleaners, but to no avail.

cheers for replying anyway

What about music tht isn't streaming? i.e. MP3's, game music, Windows sounds etc.?

If none of them are working, then it's possible that there's a driver conflict, or that your new graphics card is trying to use the same IRQ as your sound card.

I don't understand how changing your GFX card caused all these problems.

Tried uninstalling Real Player and then re-installing it? Tried upgrading to Real One?
