I am one of many people that cannot get broadband and might well be one of the last to get it in our area if ever. Games are rubbish over dial-up and a waste of time and money. The thing is even if I could get broadband I am not sure whether I could justify the monthly outgoings, considering I could get a really decent Sky package for the same sort of money. There is also another issue here who is going to pay for Xbox live on top of the ADSL connection only Bill Gates could afford it.

Ahh the Digital divide! In the future, if you cant get broadband you won't get...
High speed broadband internet.
VOD (video on demand - tv down a ADSL phone line).
The ability to use your normal analogue phone at the same time as the internet.
Games consoles which require a broadband connection.
Other Set top box stuff that may be introduced that requires broadband.

Wireless broadband is only likely to work if you live in a highly populated area where there is a special transmitter.

2 way Broadband satellite is likely to be the only option. The latest systems do not require a normal phone - just a special dish (a Sky mini dish won't work). Problem is it's new, and very expensive (at least £500).
