"So did the smoking ban work?"

Just curious, I don't really go to pubs, clubs, resturants or your office so I'm not sure how things have improved since the ban came into affect.

So how are things now? Has it helped any of you to cut down on smoking? Where do the smokers at Freeola's Offices go for a quick fag?

i think it has,, i mean if ppl want a fag wen they are in a pub, then they have to go outside and sometimes its freezing,, so if they dont want to be cold they dont have a fag they are really cutting down,,

well thats my point of view,, lol

I smoke more these days

Pubs are definitely better as far as I see it; I don't end up reeking of smoke for days after visiting one. But then, I'm a non-smoker with probably quite useless lungs.

Only started going to club nights since I came to uni (and the big city), so no idea of what they'd have been like with smoke. Unpleasant, I'd imagine.

One thing I don't like about the ban is the rule about "40% covered" areas or whatever it was. Meant I had to deal with chavs lighting up in a dance tent whilst doing festival work last year... although that wasn't the worst part of the job, or even that shift!
