Well I stood on the front till this morning for four hours and served about 20 people, mainly pensioners, who are mostly so deaf you have to shout at them to be understood. The company paid to have special deaf hearing aids put in but does anyone use them ? Nope ! Everyone would rather just be shouted at. Ah, and then theres the fact that about 80% stand there fumbling around with their money holding up coins and asking "which coin is it?" They can afford cigarettes, £10 of chocolate e.t.c every friday, but glasses ? As well as this bunch, with it being nearly the six weeks holidays there are tons of parents around wiht kids who are blatantly 'capping off' from school. When you serve them their parents feel obliged to explain why they are there.. I DONT CARE ! :)If they want to cap off then does it really matter to me ? Just because I sometimes have the flipping security radio they seem to think anyone with a radio is some kind of security/police type person. Well I'm not and I use the radio most during the World Cup to contact the TV shop and check scores. Add to all of this the parents with five/six screaming kids trailing after them who burst into tears if they can't have what they want, the little idiot this morning who wondered what would happen if he pulled the Matchbox Car display towards him (Fell on top of him with large crash) and the usual idiot questions from customers and it was a hell of a four hours. Gah !
Personally I think we should all watch "Clerks" in place of the training videos because it is so right :)

Got to work today, the boss called me into the office, told me to sit down.
Where was i this morning?
Huh?
What?
No, it's tomorrow that i have the 7.30 shift..
What? No, nobody said anything about it to me..
No, i can do the shifts...
After some confusion it emerged that i was supposed to have swapped my wednesday 7.30 shift with someone else's this morning.
Only i'm 95% sure nobody told me (one of the supervisors mumbles in an indecipherable welsh accent, to which i usually respond by nodding, smiling and agreeing generically, after learning how long it takes to actually understand her, but i'm pretty sure she didn't speak to me anyway.
Also, i worked wednesday morning, and nobody mentioned anything. Like 'you're not actually supposed to be here'.
After leaving the office, i checked the overtime rota sheet. As i already knew, i was written in for wednesday, the other guy for friday.
Now, i probably should have to see the boss for ignoring mumbling welsh ladies, and people not knowing what's going on at work is nothing new.
But it's actually the bosses who were on my back who are in charge of the rota. They know people use it to check when they're supposed to be working, and if they didn't want people to rely on what it said, they shouldn't stick it up on the employees' notice board.
So either make sure it's right, or don't bother, but accept responsibility for the problems made by the rota being wrong.
Idiots.
They didn't mention it again that day. Just as well, as if they had, i may well have gone off on one, saying pretty much what i just wrote, but with more profanities. And got fired.
Still, i'm going to look into avenues for other work that will let me refuse all overtime here. Maybe quit outright if they give me much more crap.
