Will we one day just use a sophisticated set top box (stb) for games. That means no dvd/cd, just a built in hard drive for downloads. You would require broadband. All the games & demos would be downloaded over broadband to your set top box - the price for games would be similar to now (money could be spend via credit card or by direct debit from a special account set up when you buy the stb). You would have to pay a monthly broadband connection fee, line rental, etc. I think, in the far future, everything could be over air or via download. But right now, there is not enough broadband area's. People outside it are out of the loop. Plus, right now the cost is high. Some people only have 128-512k broadband. This is quick over a modem, but to download a 10Gb game would take a fair time i think.
