Have all been knocked down,
I fought for my mind
And stole back my crown,
I can at last say
That I now stand in peace,
With my feet to the floor
And locked in a crease
That refuses to be ironed
No matter how much
The steam will force it
To fall back in touch...
But now a new problem
Has come by my way,
Nothing that will
Force me to sway,
But it feels quite obsurd
In a small and quaint life,
That a man so unheard
Could find a true wife...
I feel still in shock
But I'm mostly alive,
I've felt my mind fall,
To the heart it will dive,
And no longer a conflict,
But they just speak as one,
Goodbye to the darkness,
And here comes the sun.
No tears to be lost,
Though a battle of fear,
Just what would I do
If I lost you my dear?
I'd just keep living
As I know you would too,
No taboo to now keep
Our minds are now true...
No need to fight
For fear of the loss
Of the happiness that exists
When our paths do cross
For no longer
Will we live both alone,
But be as one together,
Just like the dial tone...
Don't worry my dear,
It's pretty to hear,
Not monotonous and as dull as I feared...
But just a beautiful lullaby heard...
And so we just let
The time simply pass,
Stuck behind
Our walls of glass,
For when have you ever truly seen
A film so utterly complex and mean
As the life we live through every day
When we are forced to keep away...
Experiences lost
And feelings gained
Emotions fall
As if they'd drained
From the clouds
Into our eyes
As we stare above
The other lies
That seem to cost us
What little change
We try to keep
For a bright exchange
When at last
I feel your grasp
In my hand
And walk the land
High hopes my dear
Those we can reach
Because something so strong
Can really teach
A life of justice
When we're finally right
We've found our vision
We've found our sight
And beyond the hills
Beyond the sea
There will sit
You and me
Looking back and
Laughing with
The strange old life
That we have lived
Love the rhythm of these pieces.
