Scrappy Doo did it. He was the villain. In a robotic Mr Bean outfit. they destroyed him. They humiliated him. It was so good. I wasn't expecting thi film to be much cop, but it was fantastic. I never really watched the cartoons, but I know it well enough to recognise the little in jokes...and it was spot-on. Shaggy was easily the highlight of the film. Matthew Lillard, who played Shaggy, could easily have passed for the original voice from the series - it was THAT good. In fact, Shaggy's voice was probably what kept me watching! Then the film grew on me. They destroyed almost every little myth surrounding the show - the romance between Fred and Daphne, how much they hated Scrappy Doo AND Vhelma's sexuality! In short it was rally cool. Not a cringy teen horror, but a really camp, cringy teen horror - which worked really well. They go to a place called 'Spooky Island' to solve a mystery. Vhelma loses her glasses. Fred gets in trouble. There's an old man Smithers. There's even a suggestion of Scooby and Shaggy smokin' da bowl! Some class quotes as well - Fred to Vhelma:
"Dorky chics like you turn me on too!"
Funning yay!
Scrappy Doo though. when he comes into it you think "Oh God, not Scrappy Doo". But they say how annoying and egomanical he was and leave him in the middle of the desert! What a masterstroke! then he comes bak as the villain and gets taken away in a doggy box! Trust me, this is worth seeing. Even though it looks crap, it's not. No matter what mood you're in, you'll be smiling at the end of this film. I'd compare it to Kevin Smith's vision of Mystery Inc. in J&SBSB.

I liked the Melvin Doo joke. When Scooby gets the phone call and the guy shouts phone call for Mr. Doo (or something) and another guy stands up and says Melvin Doo? Then later when Scooby Doo is going to be sacraficed and he's like Dont ya mean Melvin Doo? and it just shows that Melvin guy sytanding there. well I thought it was a nice funny touch anyway.

And when Scrappy is taken away and he says 'I would have gotten away with it to if it wasnt for you medaling sons of bi...' then door closes so he cant finish.

Yeah I just finished watching the video (which came this morning) it is great. Lol what about Shaggy's girlfriend 'Mary jane' and how he says that is his favourite name.

I wish I hadnt of gone to Yahoo movies and read the reviews there before watching as they gave away the whole Scrappy doo thing. So I saw it coming.
