Why is that many people say games relieve them of the real world and its pressures when they want this element realistically created in their video games?
It maybe that although gamers are controlling a character in a realistic world, unlike the real world the gamer has little responsibility, no law and order and no fears.
When a character dies, this is only the end of a run in a game.
So are we trying to capture the world in which we live in but yet go that extra further to provide a world where a gamer can live out a character's life without any responsibility of their actions.
As time goes on, of course technology is going to get better and better. In the future, could we be taking rides on a virtual bus, staying overtime in a virtual office doing virtual office work and could we even delve into more controversial issues.
Like the Nintendo Gamecube slogan goes: "Life is a Game". The reality of this statement is becoming increasingly frequent as our games become more about our lives than escapisms.

Sure we want it to look more realistic, but only to enhance the experience, it's not some psychological cry for help.
It would just make things a lot funnier!
