I'll be well happy if its that PC game of Tron. :-) Can finally enjoy participating in the best part of the film - the bike scene ! :-)))
Interesting itsn't it.
A film based around retro games (which were state of the art when the film was made) is having a game based on it...
Bikes going around square, walls built to destroy others, ya?
3D that? Boring. I'll just go play the 2D one.
I used to get the boards together to make the arena, put a different colour block on a set of wheels (red, blue, yellow, black) for the bikes. Then I'd make the patrol craft and tanks. The tanks were a very basic lookalike but the patrol craft were easily recreated cause of their shape. ;-)) Even had detachable legs so I could turn them and put them in the middle for the stomping bit they do. ;-))
See Wookie, these damn kids don't know how good they've got it these days. ;-)) LOL

Though the tank and the 'space invader' patrol craft are pretty cool, too!
I mean its not gory or anything, but its still got that surprising feel to it because your watching people litterally play to the death. If you get round to seeing the film sometime, I guarantee the bit that you'll enjoy the most will be the bike seen. ;-)
Basically the players turn into futuristic looking bikes and race around a grid leaving a colour trail behind them. If another player hits that colour trail they are destroyed. Of course some of the players don't like the idea of basically being prisoners, playing games until they die, so they make a bid for freedom. Pretty good film, although its quite old now, but the effects are still pretty good.
If that news of the X-Box Tron game is anything to go by, it also said about another Tron film being made at the moment. Could be a great film with effects available now. :-)
