All the screenshots I have seen, even the ones with the in car instruments on screen , show the speed of the vehicle in KM/H.
I know this may seem a small point but it has been a complaint in games before and although mentioned in the instructions, my copy of GT2 did not appear to allow you to select MPH.
Like most Brits (I guess) my head does not work in KM/H. The net result of this is I will go screaming into a corner , glance at the speed and think 'Oooh , I'm doing 160. Is that fast or not ? Well if 100 is 62 MPH then 160 must be 62MPH + half again + a bit ... so that means it's about .... What d'ya mean I've crashed ?'
Sounds daft but my question is has anyone seen any screenshots or read anywhere that we will be able to select MPH on GT3 ?
Its good to know I'm not the only one who found this irritating.
Interesting point about Sony not wanting to upset people again. I suppose the USA is all MPH too and millions would have found it annoying. (Question - I thought Japan was MPH too ? evidently not)
Also accept the point about not really looking at the speedo - I suppose I don't really most of the time, but it would just *feel* more impressive somehow knowing I'd just outbraked someone from 120MPH and somehow through my skill and judgement ( :-) ) kept it on the road for victory.... (can you feel the waves of nostalgia ?)
Bottom line is - I want MPH , especially seeing as the speed/revs will now be overlayed on screen.

I know what you mean - Iwas a bit narked about the lack of MPH too, especially as it was in the manual.
But I have to admit that I rarely look at the speedo. I find the feedback from the GT games so intuitive (the engine sounds, vibrations etc.) that I just seem to *know* whether I'll make a corner or not.
Although I love GT2, what really annoyed me initially was the lack of support for Namco's JogCon controller.
While I was glancing at the screenshots though, one thing struck me. Most, if not all of them, were FMV shots, there were no actual game shots at all. The FMV was so good that it was hard to tell if you were looking at the real thing, which was amazing. I just hope the game itself is more of an advancement than GT2 was on its predecessor.
I would suggest, although of course nothing can really be confirmed until the game gets released, that mph will be an option, because Sony would have had a lot of feedback from that when GT2 came out, and seeing as Sony aim to please, I can't see how they could leave it out.
