Many an original idea has spawned out of the head of games developers recently, but due to money problems, strikes and the lack of will from the programmers' part, these games were never actually released. If any of these games take your fancy, email the relevant developers now and tell them! You never know what may happen...

Lock Stock and two Explosive Barrels (Rareware).

Set after his escape from Mario almost twenty years ago, Donkey Kong is loose on the streets. After finding his family of Kongs in a zoo in New York, he has set up an organisation to sell illegal substances to addicts and children who will pay good money for decent drugs. However, rival gangs want to take the drugs off you to sell for themselves. The aim of the game is to sell your substances, steal some off rival gangs and to make as much money as you can. Armed with explosive barrels, you can run, jump and squeal really loud whilst being shot at by thugs with shotguns, pistols and sub-machine guns. If you make enough money, you can choose from a range of sports cars to buy, or if you want to live dangerously, you can steal one but be in fear of the police for the rest of the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Linked in the park (Nintendo)

The original GameCube Zelda clip you saw at Spaceworld 2000 was from a real game Shigeru Miyamoto wanted to make. Based on an alternate reality, Princess Zelda has married Gannon. However, Zelda isn't getting enough action from her prince, so sneaks out in the middle of the night, whilst Gannon is asleep, to the nearest park where she finds an elf in his late teens. They make passionate love under the moonlight and the princess leaves to get back to the castle before Gannon wakes up. However, she trips in her room waking Gannon. Gannon finds out she's been with another elf, and decides to imprison her in her own dungeon. Only Link, her passionate fling, can save her.

Crazy Driver (SEGA)

Using the Crazy Taxi game engine, you play as one of Robotnik's slaves. Your mission is to flatten all hedgehogs, foxes and echidnas that you see on the road to provoke Sonic the Hedgehog. This game, originally designed for the arcades had a points system. Normal creatures flattened would give you ten points, blue hedgehogs would give you 100 points, pink hedgehogs 20 points, orange foxes 50 points and red echidnas 40 points. If you get enough points, you unlock new levels and faster vehicles. If you get the highest score on the last course you unlock the battle mode against Sonic. Using skillful driving and handbrake turns, you must flatten Sonic to a bloody pulp before he smashes up your vehicle.

Pinkman (So Entertainment/Nintendo)

Driving in his 'pink-mobile' through an unknown area of Ireland, Graham Norton crashes into a massive, stationary boulder that just happens to be in his way. His car smashes into thirty pieces and leaves him with dirt and engine-oil stains on his crazy suit. You have only thirty days to try and find the pieces of the 'pink-mobile' and a mechanic who enjoys checking out exhausts to fix it, otherwise Graham Norton's stains will take over and gross him out.

Return to Castell Caerfilly (ID Software)

Set in World War II, you play as a secret agent from Her Majesty's Secret Service, trying to figure out why the Nazi's haven't captured this Welsh castle for their own use. Originally armed with a 9mm pistol, you have to explore the castle and see what the Welsh secret is. Is it their own type of cheese? Is it a secret weapon? Or is it simply that the Nazi's couldn't stand the amount of flem spat at them as the welsh tried to plea for their lives whilst being tortured? Only you can find out.

Super Larry-O Bros. (Sony Entertainment Corp.)

Designed for the Playstation, Sony wanted to show they could come up with something original that was all their work and none of any other developer, but they couldn't do it. So they came up with a platformer where you control a British Gas engineer, nicknamed "Larry-O" who has to try and save his girlfriend from the evil Boozer, a fat drunkard who breathes out fire. Always running from left to right, Larry-O has to make his way through many levels, encountering Boozer in a castle-like pub every 4th level, and finding he's saved a bunch of cheap tarts instead of his girlfriend. Will Super Larry-O ever save his girl? Find out by contacting Sony to hurry up and release this game, now!

So there we have it. Games that were never released due to lazy programmers and money problems. Maybe if you show the developers you really want these games to be released, they'll finish making them, but I doubt it. Try anyway...go on....have a laugh!
