how do you unlock past event match 39 ?? ive completed up to that , but 40+ wont open !!!

you have to get more charcters... falco is doing the 100 man melee pichu you can't get till you unlock falco. mewtwo 20 hours of melee play and mr game and watch is comeplete classic with as many charcters as poss (doesn't matter what diff)
ive got falco and pichu , and every other character except mewtwo and game and watch , im gonna leave my gamecube on over night , on a 3 player vs match , so it should take about 7 hours 6 minutes.

By the way register your Nintendo VIP card that came with SSBM for a full guide including how to get all characters, ALL EVENTS and how to complete them.
