I'm clawing at glass
Locked behind a window
I just need to speak
Let me have my say
Give me my freedom
Please hear my heart
Let my beats punch you
And rip you apart
For here is my opinion
And here is my mind
How deep do you look?
And what do you find?
You think life is empty?
You think life is rotten?
Can you truly say
You've reached the bottom?
Dug down with the spoon
And pulled out the moon?
Reach deep into the bowl
Go through every layer
Sure you don't like some
But they'll be more still to come
So hang on through your life
Of ice cream and delight
And lick the bowl clean
To know of true sight
Because with a clean dish
When you do finish
You can then just go back
And choose all the layers
The ones you did love
For you have tasted them all
And so what of the cherry
That sits on top?
Reminding you
Of how far you've got?
Tell me again
Of how why and when
You found your footing
On a grassy edge?
And what if it rains?
And your shoes lose their grip?
Well sure the views nice
But what if you slip?
You're expecting us to catch you?
Isn't that a little selfish?
Can't you see our eyes
With your face to the dish?
Greed all you want
But sit on the floor
Because if does come the time
When you're pining for more
Try and stand up
And see where you are
Because we may have left you
And we may just go far
Because if you want us to help you
You're going to have to make
The very first steps
From the bitter mistake
Of living a life
On your knees with a bowl
And watching as others
Dice you do roll
Your selfish temptations
Will not faulter us
But unless you admit
That it's too hard to quit
You'll be stuck in the bowl
With your head round the rim
You won't let yourself out
And you won't let us in
If you don't make the effort
Then how can you see
That we're just calling and waiting
For you by the sea?
We want to go sailing
In the drifts of the world
Spend our time laughing
Let life be unfurled
There's no power here
No time to be spent
Through telling you what you are
Or how we may have went
But only for a future
So please man just join us
Tell us your all
And give up your pains
For the next time it happens
The next time it rains
And maybe we're not here
To help you calm down
And batter down the fear
I'll be worried to find
That if you have gone far
And left us alone
Then what happens then?
Another scar to remind you?
Please man just speak

Through times we have been through
We all know how it's been
We know what it's like
But we're lucky to have seen
A new light on the outside
That shines deep from within
Because if you won't open the door
I'm going to knock my way in

Those damn mimes! You have no idea how much trouble they've caused me.

Grix, the first line, clawing at glass, made me think of a mime.

Then the mime wouldn't go away, and he was acting out the lines from the post in my head.
