I preferred SA by miles. There was loads of different characters and the levels where more intresting. I think the Snowboading section was worth the price of the game alone, it certainly wasn't perfect but it kept my intrest longer than SA2.

SA1 had just as much linearity, just that you had to explore Station Square (which was pretty small) to get to the next stage.

Um, well I'd have to disagree there. SA was, and still is, a good game... but SA2 is better. SA has masses of levels? Well, it had 10, and SA2 had 31... plus SA2 did away with the boring "adventure" parts of the game, which was a more than welcome move on SEGA's part. Dozens of bosses? Well, far less than even one dozen and SA2's bosses came in greater numbers and were far more enjoyable to play against.
And on top of that, SA2 improved upon the original's camera (although not by much to be honest) and the controls were faster and far more responsive.
SA is a brilliant game and if it comes to Gamecube then anyone who never played it on the Dreamcast could do a lot worse than to buy it... but SA2 beats it hands down.
I highly recommend SA1- it is a superb game.
My sister is constantly trying to get me to buy SA2 sinse shes a big sonic fan, but I'm telling her to save up £40 of her own money to waste on the game. There's plenty of other titles on the market worth that kind of money, from what I've read SA2 doen't fall into that catagory.
Sonic adventure warra load of rubbish, I can't beleive they have the nerve to port that load of rubbish over. If they're gonna port anything at least make it good e.g Jet Set Radio.
*bangs head against wall*
It's better than SA2, but it's still pretty pants. Certainly doesn't compare to Mario games, it's okay but I got it for £5, definetly not worth paying full price for.
