Box the penguin and win $200,000 3rd Jul 2002
Anonymous donor gifts cash for anyone able to get Linux onto an Xbox.
That’s right folks, if you can get Linux up and running on an unmodified Xbox console, without using insider knowledge, the Xbox Linux project will give you the equivalent of £140,000. Which would, you know, pay the bills for a while.
The Xbox Linux project is aimed at enabling Xbox owners to use the games console as a desktop computer. This will be done by using USB peripherals to operate Linux.
We’ll keep you updated on the progress of the project.
Nothings impossible.
