Personally, it's good, yet highly addictive as well. It's a shame that stealing from folk results in tough guards killing you (if you resist). It would be better if you could run away from them easier. THe transition between areas is also very slow, and ther are sometimes unexplinable pauses.

I think it depends what your after...
Although I dont think anyone can underestimate how much Baulders Gate re-engerised the RPG market, or that a top job was done implementing the AD&D ruleset into a game... I wasnt that much of a fan of the game itself.
I had a problem with the infinity engine... the style of spawning, and that people just sat in the same position all the time (Ultima IV & V had people going to work/meals/going home/going to slepp, etc... and that was in 86/87)... It didnt suck me into the game world, I always well aware that I was playing a computer game, never invloving me in the story...
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Baulder Gate, at least in essence. They made a lot of brave desisions, its just not the a game for me.
(I especially enjoyed the way reviews who initally put the game down for being an RPG, deriding it for being in 2D, were, later, the same reviewers who were extolling its vitues as the saviour of mankind, as they realised it had become massivly popular)
Although I understand NeverWinter Nights has a 3D graphics engine, I've been lead to believe that many of the changes are cosmetic, that there will still be people standing in the same place all day and all night, that spawning will occur with Doom-esq efficiency, etc..
Also, since the game is, more than a single player experience, based around providing Internet Dungeon Master toolkit... I'm not really after being an internet Dungeon Master...
It may sound like I'm trying to put down NeverWinter Nights... and I'm not, theres not doubt it will be a fantastic title... I've not even played MorrowWind, (which is why I'm not defeding it specifically)...
I just think theres still room for improvment.
(If your system cant run MorrowWind, will it run NeverWinter Nights?)
This game has the stupidest name I have ever seen. It isn't catchy, it sounds really 'beardy' and what the hell is "morrowind".
