You also had the ability to switch character mid battle and play "player vesus player",which basically meant you could both be Ken. This option was previously unavailable on the SF2 arcade.
Black Belt edition was not an official Capcom release and was indeed a "cracked" version, it was illegal, cheaper than the actual version and thus appeared in many a takeaway in the early 90's.
It appeared a long time before SF2 Turbo etc. and had nack all to do with the developmeant of the series.

As shown in "The making of Streetfighter 2" in EDGE 2/3 months back, SF2 was a completely new game compared to the first- the only thing in common was the name! Like Edgy said, the original came out years ago.
Anyway, games like SF2 Turbo and SF2 Championship were just "updates" to this, but NOT "cracks" (which implies that some people outside capcom got the source code and alterred it). That's complete nonsense- all the games were made by Capcom and it's subsiduaries.
However, more recent versions of SF and 2D fighting games have seen some interesting changes. Check out any of SNKs "latest" games.
